SEATIME ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the SEATIME mobile application.
Information We Collect
SEATIME is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information to provide you with the best experience:
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to help improve the app, such as which features are most used. This data is not linked to your identity.
- Device Information: Basic device information (device type, operating system version) may be collected for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.
- Location Data: If you enable location services, SEATIME may access your location to provide relevant ferry terminal information. Location data is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal identification information (name, email, phone number) through the app.
- We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies within the app.
AI-Powered Features
SEATIME includes an AI-powered trip planning assistant. When you use this feature, your queries are processed to provide relevant responses. We do not store your conversation history on our servers beyond what is necessary to complete the current session.
Ferry Schedule Data
SEATIME retrieves publicly available ferry schedule and capacity data from BC Ferries. This data is used solely to provide you with accurate, up-to-date travel information within the app.
Third-Party Services
SEATIME may use the following third-party services. Any third party with whom data is shared is required to provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this privacy policy:
- Apple App Store: Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy for app distribution and analytics. Apple may collect anonymous app analytics data.
- Anthropic API: Used to power the AI assistant feature. When you use the AI assistant, your queries are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic does not use this data for training purposes. Queries are subject to Anthropic's usage policies.
We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics tracking SDKs, or third-party code that tracks users across apps or websites.
User Consent and AI Disclosure
SEATIME uses an external AI service (Anthropic) to power its trip planning assistant. By using the AI assistant feature, you consent to your queries being processed by this external service. You may choose not to use the AI assistant feature, and all other app functionality will remain fully available without it.
Data Retention and Deletion
SEATIME does not maintain user accounts or store personal data on external servers. Any anonymous usage data collected is retained only as long as necessary to improve the app and is not linked to your identity. Since SEATIME does not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to delete. If you wish to remove all app data from your device, you may uninstall the app at any time.
Your Privacy Choices
You have the following choices regarding your data:
- Location Services: You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
- AI Assistant: Use of the AI-powered features is entirely optional.
- App Deletion: Uninstalling SEATIME removes all locally stored data from your device.
- Data Requests: If you have concerns about any data associated with your use of SEATIME, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed through SEATIME. All data transmitted between the app and external services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (TLS/SSL). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to implementing best practices.
Children's Privacy
SEATIME is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the app and on our website with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of SEATIME after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
